Dangerous Goods are articles or substances which are capable of posing a significant risk to health, safety, property or the environment when transported by air if improperly declared, packaged and handling. In most cases, these commodities are subject to restrictions in terms of how they are shipped. In the United States and some other countries dangerous goods are more commonly known as hazardous materials, (abbreviated as HAZMAT or HazMat). Furthermore, different countries have differing requirements and restrictions, in addition to airline and US export restrictions or absence thereof.
