How organic or natural are the skin products we buy? Even products that profess to be organic or natural might contain chemicals which can cause long term harm. But let’s get real, very few products, even purpported organic and natural brands DON’T contain some toxic. So how do we make that organic or natural buying decision?
A US website called Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Database by Environmental Working Group; list the toxic level of PRODUCTS and ingredients. While it might not be fully fool-proof, the site is created by Environmental Working Team, a team of scientists, engineers, policy experts, lawyers and computer programmers who pores over government data, legal documents, scientific studies to analyse products on the market for toxic level, be it organic or natural.
While its great to be able to purchase items at a lower cost closer to home, often the low toxic organic products are more readily available from US at much lower prices. US tends to also demand more transparency in their ingredients listing. Some of these include, mothernature.com and drugstore.com.
Recently I purchased Dr Bronner’s Organic Shikakai Body Soap, Dr Bronner’s Organic Body Lotion, Organic cologne and Dessert Essence’s face wash, saving almost 50% overall. A little research and time would probably provide that much savings if one buys direct from US using vsHub’s services to bring in the products.
Dr Bronner’s Organic Shikakai Body Soap
Dr Bronner’s – Magic Lotion Lavender Coconut
Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash
Herban Cowboy Organic Dusk Cologne
Makes you wonder if the organic or natural products you have been using are really safe or not? I can’t imagine what you will do when you found out the truth after you have been “convinced” of the so-called benefits to be willing to fork out more $$$ all these while.
Thanks for useful information, vsHub! Now time for me to find out the truth for myself……..
